“Self-care is how you take your power back” ~ Lalah Delia
Dear Readers, Sometimes the world of mental health self-care and wellness can be overwhelming. Which yoga video do you choose? Is yoga actually good for your body? One self-help expert says that you need boundaries, and another says that boundaries are selfish. How confusing is this?
Everyday content on the Internet and social media suggest to you a million things you can change to help your mental health. While this provides you with free access to important information, it can also be overwhelming, and can contribute to more mental stress. The reality is when you are already struggling, it is hard to research and incorporate new tools.
One reason I use therapeutic art activities in this blog is to provide a framework for your mental health recovery journey. I don’t want recovery to be so overwhelming. I want you to take time each week to digest the information in each blog and incorporate tools into your self-exploration in manageable ways.
