I thought I’d change things up and make some videos for my blog. I was feeling a bit restless in my blog writing process as I have been blogging regularly since the fall of 2024. I want the blog to feel like it evolves and grows and so making videos is one way to do that.
Also, many of you have not had access to the full blog content. I’m going to make short (and sweet๐คฉ) videos starting with some of the material at the beginning of my blogging journey.
It also gives me an opportunity to work on my speaking skills which are important tools for a writer to have. I tend to feel anxious of public speaking and being in the spotlight so this is a small step towards working at becoming more comfortable using my voice to convey my ideas.
It is also a good way to become more comfortable with how I look, as when I am recording I am looking directly into my eyes. Perhaps it’s an opportunity for further self-acceptance and self-empowerment.
If you like the video format for the blog, let me know by liking this blog post or sending me a comment. I am hoping it feels a bit more engaging and is also convenient when you don’t have time for reading a longer piece of writing.๐
So here we go…I am new to making videos so this one cuts off a bit at the end. It’s a work in process which hopefully will improve with practice๐ Also please let me know if there are any technical issues with viewing the video.
A few health and creativity updates. I am currently working on a variety of writing projects…slowing moving towards shaping what I want to say and learning to improve my writing skills. I will post all published writing on this website under Writing Portfolio.
I got the results from my biopsy from my colonoscopy – everything is fine. What a relief!!! My doctor will go over this with me in more detail next week.
I am on summer mode and will be trying to soak up as much relaxation this summer as possible. I want to be in a good space when I start lowering one of my medications starting at the end of September. This will be done slowly and carefully, so my body can adjust to the changes and learn what I need in terms of mental health self-care as these adjustments are made. We will likely raise the second medication in the process if my body tolerates it. The changes are happening to prevent a variety of health issues that can occur based on the dose of my medication, my age and how long I have been on this medication (26 years). I will be sharing this journey with you.
Also, June is Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month. Let’s think about how we can support the men in our lives who are struggling with their mental health. ๐๐

Hi Meegan~ The video allows me other dimensions of you ~ your face, your voice. Having eye contact so to speak is also a great addition to your blog.
Enjoyed this experience of you. Thanks!
Thanks for this lovely, supportive feedback โค๏ธ I enjoyed making it and am excited to explore the creativity involved in making short videos, as well as how they are a portal for self-expression and how they can deepen how I can connect with people.
